What do actresses like Sonali Bendre, Divya Dutta and Tara Sharma have in common? They are all alumni of Stardust Academy, an initiative by Nari Hira of Stardust magazine fame.
The Academy is a start-up venture geared to nurturing young talent, it will will offer various acting programs to cater to the needs of both working and non-working individuals.
Last week Bollywood celebrity Jackie Shroff launched the Stardust Acting Academy and believes very strongly that such an academy will shape and deliver great talent to Bollywood.
The carefully selected candidates will go through rigorous training in all departments- grooming, dance and emoting.
The academy faculty comprises of film professionals like Kenneth Desai, Nivedita Joshi Saraf, Arif Zakaria, Raakesh Shah, Irfan Hossein who would be imparting knowledge and grooming the students through the specially devised training programs. As a part of the program, the Academy also offers elaborate dance training by renowned choreographer Abhishek Zaveri and stunts and action training by famous Bollywood action directors Kaushal-Moses.
Stardust Acting Academy is an initiative by the chairman of Magna Publishing Co Pvt. Ltd., Mr Nari Hira. The academy will flag off in August 2014. About the new venture of Magna Publications, Mr Nari Hira says “When I ran the Stardust Academy decades ago, we had turned out a number of movie stars who made a great name for themselves in the industry. This included Sonali Bendre, Divya Dutta and Tara Sharma. When I ran the video film division, Hiba films, we introduced Aditya Pancholi and Urmila Matondkar. This time around it will be on a larger scale. That was more on a hit and run basis but yet we were successful. This particular curriculum for the academy has been put together with great care by Dev Advani and the faculty which is experienced in all different facets for nurturing talent.”
